Lahore: Lahori Qalandars have outplayed Faisalabad Qalandars to emerge as the winner of Player Development Program Season Three.
Faisalabad Qalandars won the toss of the final and elected to bat after which they posted a total of 173 runs for Lahori Qalandars to chase.
Shehzad Ali and Tariq Nawaz’s match-winning partnership of 126 runs made the run chase look easy and earned Lahoris their well-deserved trophy. Faisalabad bowlers struggled to take wickets throughout the innings and were unable to defend the total.
Shehzad Ali’s brilliant knock of 87 runs from 50 balls by smashing twelve 4 and two 6 paved a way for Lahori Qalandars towards lifting the trophy and also earned Shehzad his Man of the Match award. Tariq Nawaz with his 66 runs from 47 balls with the help of two four and five 6 continued his great form and won the best batsman of the tournament award.
Dilbar Hussain and Farzan Raja both took 2 wickets each and played a crucial part in restricting Faisalabad to 175 runs.
Earlier in the first innings, Faisalabad’s Sikandar Khan scored a total of 66 runs on 41 balls which helped Faisalabad in setting up a total of 175 runs. For his match-winning performances throughout the tournament, Muhammad Faizan was the Player of the Tournament.
Lahori Qalandars lifted the Player Development trophy amidst notable personalities including Governor Punjab, Chaudhry Sarwar who applauded the youngsters and appreciated the efforts of Lahore Qalandars for organizing a talent hunt on such a large scale and giving a promising platform to youngsters.
